Ashley and Brandon tied the knot a few weeks ago in Ashley’s family’s church in Godfrey, IL. After their grand bubble exit from the church, we headed to Lewis & Clark Community College for pictures with the wedding party, before heading to Alton Sportsmen’s Club for the wedding reception.
Ashley’s dress was beautiful- I knew it needed to be photographed in an equally beautiful setting. I was so excited when I saw these dark wood doors with the stained glass windows. I love stained glass and I love wood doors.
Ashley’s shoes and jewelry
Ashley’s mom helped her get ready as her bridesmaids stood by, anxiously waiting for her to turn around so they could look at her in her dress.
Ashley looked beautiful! She chose red roses, which are always a wedding classic.
I asked the best man if he had the ring, and he held it out to me in the palm of his hand. I loved the simplicity of it, so I asked the maid of honor to do the same.
After going through the receiving line, the guests lined up outside the church doors to give Ashley and Brandon a bubble exit. The groomsman fist bumping the groom was just too hilarious not to share!

I’ve never been on the Lewis & Clark Community College campus in Godfrey before. I’ve driven by and seen all the old buildings through the gates, but I’d never been past the gates until that day. I was getting so excited as we were driving through the campus- it’s so beautiful there! I could’ve spent hours photographing throughout the campus, but we only had a few minutes.
I was standing quite a ways away, (I was using my favorite lens, my 70-200) so with the distance and the noise from the fountain, I was deaf to anything Brandon was saying. And that’s a shame, because whatever he was saying was cracking Ashley up! I love when my couples can make each other laugh. Real smiles and laughs beat fake smiles any day of the week.
Have you ever seen a more gorgeous bunch of bridesmaids?! The red dresses pop against the green background.
Um, hello Vogue! These girls look like they should be in an ad in a bridal magazine! And of course, we did our own version of the “Bridesmaids” pose.
I love stone walls. And the groomsmen were loving that the stone wall also happened to be in the shade.
They were such a fun bridal party!
Those windows! This whole campus is awesomeAnd I’m totally digging the groom’s tie and vest being opposite of the groomsmen.
Lol, you can’t hold the bride if you’re texting! Ashley was laughing so hard at him.
Tell me that purple flowering bush isn’t perfect right there? I need to shoot here more! Any takers?
The wind was blowing just enough to breezily lift Ashley’s veil without blowing her hair all over.
I know I’ve said it before, but I love old looking lamp posts. And that stone bridge is phenomenal!
You two are stunning!
Ashley and Brandon’s first dance together
Ashley and Brandon’s wedding reception was at the Alton Sportsmen’s Club in Godfrey, IL. The wedding colors of black, white, red, and silver were reflected throughout the reception decor, as well as in the wedding cake.
Wedding ring shots are my favorite thing to shoot. I always try to do something a little different. When everyone else is eating dinner, you’ll find me and my macro lens creating “sets” for the wedding rings.
After the first dance, Ashley danced with her father, then Brandon danced with his mother.
Bouquet toss! One of the bridesmaids was the lucky girl who caught the bouquet.
